HAIKU - TRIUNE THOUGHTS.

a father and son /
together with a spirit ||
three lines - one haiku.

two men and a ghost /
walked into a busy bar ||
"the wine is on us!"

when searching for god /

CAPTURED SUNLIGHT

WHY ARE YOU HERE?

Like an ice age beast,
A Woolly Worm moves,
Between white patches,
Of November snow...

     Why are you outside?
     What trauma leads you?

You will surely die,
     But then,
          So will I!

SUNFIRE

Monday, November 23, 2015

LATE FALL.

Bright, peripheral flash, sulfur yellow -
Tattered and faded alfalfa butterflies;
Spastic landings, lurching launches,
Before me, blood-red meadowhawks.

What I celebrate seeing in the spring,
I mourn seeing in cooling November -
The next frosted night will be their last.
So I thank them, yet keep on walking.

FALLNESS

Friday, November 20, 2015

THE TAIL-SIDE.

I say that I believe,
But it's superficial,
And it's insufficient:
To comfort my regrets;
To soothe my fretting;
To grant me confidence.

I say that I believe in,
A coin with two sides,
But what I really believe,
Is in the face of God -
But not in the tail-side;
But not in the frail-side.

I do not yet believe,

In me...

CREATION'S TRUMPETS

EACH BREATH.

each breath,
is a prayer -
inhale spirit,
exhale praise.

there's a prayer of thanksgiving,
subliminal to each act of giving.

each breath,
is a prayer -
inhale grace,
exhale love.

there are prayers of submission,
inherent in each initiated mission.

each breath,
is a prayer -
inhale God,
exhale God.

ARMISTICE DAY BLESSING

11/11 11:11:11

may the swords,
of the beaten,
may the swords,
of the victors,
both be beaten,
into plowshares,
to fight against,
our common foe.

THE CHRISTMAS WAR.

They want us to purchase,
From Thanksgiving Day on.
They want us all to forgo,
Any Advent introspection,
Contrary to consumption.
They want us to worship:
Idols of silver and of gold;
Druidic trees and mistletoe;
Department store santas;
Busy merchandising elves;
Snowflakes on coffee cups.

The real war on Christmas,
Has already been fought,
And won by corporations,
While we were lusting for,
This year's must-have-it -
Not on some theological,
Battlefield's front-line, but,
By very willing surrender,
Back on the home-front.

Holly defeated holy...

Or maybe not?

TRANSPORTER FOG.

 above is nonce below;
heaven lies at my feet.
shaped from darkness,
armada of ponderings,
floating on dim clouds -
inside of or outside of,
my mist-wetted skull?

MIST ON THE PRAIRIE

TIME-PORTAL FOG.

mid-of-night, or
noon-of-day, or
both at one time?

lost primordial past, or
vague imagined future,
or mystical present-day?
