GOD'S BOSOM

Rejoice for Jerusalem,
     all you who loved me!
Rejoice with Jerusalem,
     all who mourned me!

Nurse that I may reassure you,
Feed that I may nourish you,
Suckle from my ample breasts,
Drink deeply from my holy font:
     That you may grow and flourish;
     That you may know my love;
     That you may feel cherished;
     And know that you're precious.

As a mother, I will comfort you.
In strong arms you'll find shalom.
On my hip you'll learn about life.
     You'll grow like a summer meadow!
     You will feel my hand within yours!
     You'll know me, and fear no one!

IN THE GARDEN

My soul longs
For garden sun,
For garden shade,
For blooms of joy.

My soul remembers
Your Garden's sun,
Your Garden's shade,
Your Blooms of grace.

In the garden,
In the Garden,
We are home,
We are Home.

BEFORE FAITH

Before faith,
We were convicts -
Protective custody;
On probation; under
Law's lock and key.
Until...

Until Jesus came.
Until we had faith.

Now we have faith,
Disciplining is over -
Through our brother
The Son of God,
We are released.

Take off the orange jumpsuits!
Take off those stripes of black!
Take off your prison denims!
Put on civilian clothes -
Put on Jesus Emanuel!

No more Chosen or Other -
We are all Jesus the Christ.
No more Male or Female -
We are all Jesus the Christ.
No more Straight or Gay -
We are all Jesus the Christ.
No more Saint or Sinner -
We are all Jesus the Christ.

Through our brother,
The Son of God,
We are all heirs;
We all have the keys
To the Kingdom.

Spring Ending

I AM

I waited, but
You did not
Come to me.
I waited, but
You did not
Look for me!
Here I am.
Here I AM!
I told you my name -
You did not call me.

I hold out my hand to you,
But you each walk alone:
You make maps to follow;
You try to make me hate;
You worship yourselves;
You worship your things,
And the things of others;
You sit in your churches,
Then dark places at night;
You defile yourselves;
You keep me away;
You avoid my children -
You're too "holy" for them?
The smoke of your sins
Fills my nose with stench!

It has ever been so.
I will not be silenced.
I prepare hot coals -
I will drop them in your laps:
Burning embers of your evil;
Remnants of ancestral evil.
You worship your artifacts,
And you follow your comfort.

Wine is hidden in the grape -
My servants intervene for you:
"Do not destroy your vineyard.
There're blessings held within!"
For the sake of my beloved,
I will not rip out the vines.

I will lift you up.
My kingdom comes!
Your kingdom comes!
You will come home.
